Google Photos might just be my favorite software tool of all time. Through my time traveling, hanging out with friends and family, and just being a human, I have found google photos to be incredibly useful to store, organize, search and share pictures and video. With the Pixel 3 XL, there was no hesitancy to shoot video as storage space was unlimited. The ease of being able to backup the video when on wifi network, and clear space to take more video, was unparallel. No need to connect a wire, or buy an external hard drive. It save time and money. With the new pixel phones, this unlimited storage space is no longer being offered. Another side comment, regarding google photos and youtube, is that it used to be very easy to upload a video from google photos to youtube. Now that option is no longer even available. Now the workflow requires me to download the video from google photos, and then re upload it to youtube. This is a cumbersome and time consuming process that is an obstacle to "publishing content," and is sort of in opposition to the philosophy of encouraging the common person to create and share their stories. Pardon my technical ignorance, and major respect to the team of designers and developers who built google photos! Sure, in this world of capitalism, everything is about money, and everything has its cost, so I'm not mad. Just disappointed, but also not that disappointed because all good things must come to an end. Also, because I may have become somewhat obsessed with the idea of my life being something worth sharing, that people can enjoy, and so this caused me some mental distress (maybe I'm too sensitive) when I was finally ready to start organizing and uploading more "content," to youtube for people's enjoyment (or possible misery). Now it is becoming more costly, in time and money. Sure, if I just had more money or earned it somehow, then paying 2$ a month for 100GB of storage wouldn't be so difficult, but what about the billions of people that this seemingly affordable amount would be considered unaffordable? What about the stories and experiences of poor people around the world? Now I'm going to go return the Pixel 5a phone and disengage from the internet for a little while. I just made a Patreon page, with the hopes that people will donate, and I'll never have to get a real job, but then I have to have something I offer. I wrote a book. It is going to release soon. Stay tuned. Also I will start posting more videos. Haters gonna hate.
